Characteristics of FOAMCRETE® System |

WORKABILITY
The light weight of the FOAMCRETE® panels implies a group of advantages for its use in the construction site. In fact, the panels can be moved by one or two workers totally assembled and with dimensions over 4 m². In the immediate steps can be handled and installed by one simple worker without using lifting devices. This makes easier to install the panels in any situation. The operations don’t require a particularly skilled labour.
In the event of using skilled personnel, there would be an important increase of productivity. |

HIGH ISOLATING QUALITY
The use of FOAMCRETE® panels as lost plank allows to pour the concrete no matter the outer, it means, even in weather conditions when these operations can not be carried out. In effect, thanks to the high thermal isolation of the materials, the panel protects the pouring from the risks of ice presence at low temperatures and excessive evaporation in high temperatures and therefore, the pouring process doesn’t require specific additives. Besides, because of been an isolating system in both senses, the panel contributes to improve the quality in the aging process of concrete and to reduce the time required for this, almost to near the level of steam aging.
Once the aging is achieved, with time highly reduced in comparison to traditional systems, it can be calculated that a cargo wall of 23 cm, built with these panels has an isolation capacity corresponding to 0,40 kCal/hour ºC m² against the thermal conductivity evidently higher of the other constructive systems: concrete: 2, roofing tiles and bricks: 1,7.
Once the construction is finished, besides of the advantages since the thermal point of view, this system provides similar advantages since the acoustic point of view, either for vertical and horizontal elements.

SERVICE GROOVES
In connection with the installations (hydraulic, thermal, sanitary, electric, telephonic, etc), the easy way to do the grooves confirms once more the quality of the system. This operation requires short time, doesn’t need the assistance of masons and is absolutely clean. In a first stage the paths of installations are marked on the walls, later the grooves are done in the polystyrene using a hot air generator or any other heat source and to conclude, the pipes are installed behind the metallic meshes.
In the event of rigid or semi rigid pipes the metallic mesh is always opened by using a normal cutter to close it later serving as a support for the pipes. |

THE PLASTER
Once the panels are connected, after the vertical installation of walls and the pouring in the event of double panels and after allocating the installations, the plaster can be applied directly on the panels. In this action they are manifest the advantages of FOAMCRETE® system in comparison with other systems, because the galvanizing of the support meshes allows all type of plaster. Besides, the applied plaster on the joined walls in between and reinforced due to the presence of metallic meshes, will become monolithic excluding any possible fissuring due to mechanical and/or thermal loads. Likewise, given the total absence of patches in the grooves of installations that are always visible, different from traditional systems, the plaster will be homogeneous and of higher quality even in reference to the aesthetic results. |
